DAY 1 Arrival in Rome
Arrival at Rome Fiumicino airport and transfer by de-luxe private
car to your hotel**** in Rome.
Overnight.
According to flight schedule possibility of a first half day
city tour (to be quoted on request).
DAY 2 Rome
After breakfast full day tour of Rome (about 6 hours), half day
by private de-luxe car, half day walking. Details of the visit
will follow.
Regarding Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, clients can visit
them on the first or last day or in the morning. Precise programme
and quotation could be possible after having the flights schedule.
Overnight.
DAY 3 Rome Tivoli or Colli Albani area
Option 1) Excursion to Tivoli
After breakfast departure to Tivoli (about 20 km from Rome), which
was used by the Romans as a holiday resort in ancient times too
and is famous for its magnificent villas.
Possibility of visiting Villa Adriana or Villa dEste.
A) Villa Adriana (117-138 A.D.) became the residence of the Emperor
Hadrian when he retired from political life. This is the place
where Hadrian wanted to recreate the wonders of the world that
he had seen during his travels. For this reason, spread out over
the one hundred hectares of parkland, there are groups of buildings
that remind us of Greek constructions, such as the reproduction
of the Athens Academia and Egyptian buildings such as the reproduction
of the city of Canopus.
B) Villa dEste (1551-1565), famous for the architecture
of the gardens and its various fountains.
Light lunch in a typical restaurant and after lunch back to Rome.
Option 2) Excursion to Colli Albani/Roman castles area
After breakfast departure to visit the most characteristic places
of the Castelli Romani. Along the "Road of the Lakes"
passing through one of the hilly areas of volcanic origin which
characterize the outskirts of Roma: Colli Albani, Castelgandolfo,
Ariccia, Rocca di Papa and Grottaferrata, noted for their culture
and gastronomic delicacies. Towards the northerly part of the
Colli Albani, we arrive at Frascati, popular both for its beauty
and considerable production of wine. Stop in a typical wine cellar
producing the Frascat DOC wine, guided visit and wine tasting.
Typical light lunch will be after the wine tasting or inside a
typical restaurant according to availability.
After lunch back to Rome.
Wine Tastings
In the afternoon intensive 2-hour wine course held inside the
prestigious Wine Academy of Rome (possible from Monday to Friday),
where teachers will describe the basic tasting technics and the
most important Italian wines; clients will learn the difference
between DOCG, DOC, IGT, etc. and practical suggestions to choose
a wine will be given. Tasting of 6 wines.
Then dinner in the elegant restaurant, which includes a four
courses menu + aperitif, each course accompanied by a combined
wine, with explanations by the teachers.
Transfer to the Academy not included but can be arranged on request.
It is also possible to modify the wine course according to clients
wishes, for example focus on one peculiar Italian region, on the
Great Whites or Great Reds, etc.

DAY 4 Rome Umbria (via Orvieto and Todi)
After breakfast check-out and departure by private de-luxe car
towards Umbria. Stop in Orvieto for the guided visit to this enchanting
town and to its marvellous Cathedral. Discover "Underground
Orvieto", with its caverns full of history, situated under
the heart of the City.
When wished, stop in Todi for the free visit (no guide included)
to this town dominating the Tiber Valley and famous for its churches,
palaces, Etruscan and Roman monuments.
Continue to Canalicchio and settlement at your hotel on the Umbrian
hills.
Welcome dinner with Umbrian specialities at the hotels fine
restaurant.

DAY 5 Assisi Bevagna - Montefalco
Breakfast at the hotel.
Full day excursion by private de-luxe car and guide. In the morning
guided tour of Assisi, known for the Basilica of St. Francis,
consisting of two churches built on top of each other. The Lower
Church guards the remains of the saint, while the upper Church
is decorated with 28 frescos, showing scenes from his life, painted
by Giotto. Free lunch. In the afternoon travel to Bevagna, ancient
city, unique for its Piazza Silvestri, free from all symmetry
and consisting of two churches and Palazzo dei Consoli. Free visit
to the ancient town of Montefalco. A city that offers views of
extraordinary beauty, celebrated in literature and remembered
with the name "Balcony of Umbria". This is also the
production area of the wines Sagrantino D.O.C.G., the Rosso di
Montefalco D.O.C. and of outstanding extra virgin olive oil.
Visit to an oil press and oil tasting.
Return to hotel, free dinner and overnight.
DAY 6 Perugia Torgiano with wine and oil museum
Deruta
Breakfast at the hotel.
Morning will be dedicated to the visit of Perugia, of Etruscan
origin which perfectly embodies medieval elegance. The largest
hilltown of Umbria can be easily reached by escalators. During
the guided visit you will see the Fontana Maggiore, a unique ornate
fountain with XIII century statues and carvings, the Palazzo dei
Priori, an elegant medieval palace of the citys government,
when wished the Galleria Nazionale dellUmbria (entrance
fee not included in the price): a painting gallery with masterpieces
by Piero della Francesca, Fra Angelico and Perugino, the Arco
Etrusco, the imposing Etruscan arch dates back to III b.C., the
Ipogeo dei Volumni, important Etruscan tombs.
Continue to Torgiano and visit to a famous wine cellar with wine
tasting of the famous Sagrantino D.O.C.G wine and other prestigious
wines and cold snack.
Torgiano is situated along the Wine route Cantico
and is home of two great little wine and olive oil museums. Visit
to the wine museum, housing a unique collection ranging from archeological
wine presses and wine jars to hisorical engravings and drawings
and impressive ceramics by modern and classical artists. When
wished possibility to continue towards the town of Deruta, little
town famous for the manufacturing and exposition of artistic ceramics,
and visit to one of the most famous and ancient centuries-old
majolica ceramics studio to learn how majolica are made.
Back to your hotel.
DAY 7 Trevi springs of the Clitunno Spoleto
Marmore waterfalls
After breakfast departure towards Spoleto and stop in the medieval
town of Trevi for a free visit. Then possibility of stopping at
the enchanting and often praised springs of the Clitunno before
continuing to Spoleto, and free visit to this charming town of
very antique Umbrian origins from architectural, agricultural
and artistic points of view. Spoleto was a Latin colony that transformed
itself into a Roman community, which explains its diverse architecture.
We suggest a stop at a typical shop to taste bruschetta with
the typical olive oil Olio Umbro D.O.P before reaching the Marmore
waterfalls built by the Romans, marvellously located in a natural
scenario of peerless beauty.
Back to your hotel and overnight.
DAY 8 Transfer to Rome and departure.
Breakfast at the hotel.
Transfer by de-luxe private car to Rome/Fiumicino airport and
departure.
