Oriental Pyrenees

The Oriental Pyrenees produce red, white and rose wines and several natural sweet wines. There are eight appellations in total including four of natural sweet wines. The range is one of the amplest in France for the nicest pleasure of the consumers. From a geological point of view, its soils are very varied. These terroirs are combined to the Mediterranean climate modified by the altitude and distance from the sea. The winegrower's work is also varied, only the quality of the wineries we have selected is the common point among them. Quality rhymes with Roussillon wines. Therefore, come and discover this multitude of taste, which is not limited to classical appellations. We will taste a wide range of wines which goes from silky wines, qualified as light but which offer pretty bouquets, to full bodied and concentrated wines that require time to be better appreciated.

Harvest Tour Visits - Aspres and Banylus

We will visit two regions, Aspres and Banyuls Collioure. This last one is a pleasure for the eyes before becoming one for the mouth thanks to the exceptional work of the winegrowers. In a vast amphitheatre faced to the sea, you will discover the vineyards of Banyuls and Collioure hung on Alberes, which are mountains extending Pyrenees up to the sea. These vineyards are constituted of small terraces retained by about 6 000 kilometres of low walls in dry stones, manufactured for centuries by generations of winegrowers. A fascinating spectacle created by man helped by the mother rock made of brown schist from the Cambrien period.

We will be able to have a good idea of wines offered by Roussillon region. You will discover an important range of wines. They will satisfy all palates, from sweet wines of extreme smoothness to the red, white and roses wines with melted and silky tannins, here everything is made respecting terroir and work.

These kings reigned on this part of France and had influence until Provence and on the side of the county of Toulouse. You can still admire its battlements and an imposing and original palace. Its downtown and alleyways have scents of far-distant epochs. You will admire the amazing architecture of the Palace of Kings of Majorca on the meeting of several influences, by visiting it under the sun, regional trademark !

Wine and Art

We will share the vine grower's work during the harvest,and understand the process which turns grapes into delicious wines. You will see the way grapes are been picked, sorted, pressed, etc. A young winemaker will let us share of his know-how !

We will have the chance to visit the marvelous Bay of Banyuls, less known, but as beautiful as the one of Collioure, where mountains plunge into the blue sea, where the Pyrenees cascade into the infinity of water.

You will have a free evening to enjoy Collioure, the jewel of the bright red coast, small city sheltering the summer citadel of kings of Majorca. Its magic inspired Matisse and Derain, creating in this way, a new pictorial movement: the Fauvists. Here, art is linked to the past and the present in the impressive collection of Ceret's modern and contemporary art museum. Brune, Chagall, Cocteau, Juan Gris, Matisse, Dali, Picasso and many others are waiting for you.

Golf
Created in 1976, the Golf is open to everybody thanks to its 27 holes. The tournament round "Etang-Canigou" receives for more than 10 years now, the qualification cards for the big European circuit of PGA. According to meteorological conditions, you will have all the golf strokes to play and above all, you will have the chance to gaze the natural environment of this splendid mi links round built at the edge of a lake and just at the foot hills of the majestic Canigou Mountain. The round "la Foret" shall allow you to discover a superb pinewood with a very technical round.
