    WINE & ART

    We will share the vine grower’s work during the harvest,and understand the process which turns grapes into delicious wines. You will see the way grapes are been picked, sorted, pressed, etc…. A young winemaker will let us share of his know-how !

    We will have the chance to visit the marvelous Bay of Banyuls, less known, but as beautiful as the one of Collioure, where mountains plunge into the blue sea, where the Pyrenees cascade into the infinity of water.

    You will have a free evening to enjoy Collioure, the jewel of the bright red coast, small city sheltering the summer citadel of kings of Majorca. Its magic inspired Matisse and Derain, creating in this way, a new pictorial movement: the Fauvists. Here, art is linked to the past and the present in the impressive collection of Céret’s modern and contemporary art museum. Brune, Chagall, Cocteau, Juan Gris, Matisse, Dali, Picasso and many others are waiting for you.

    GOLF
    Created in 1976, the Golf is open to everybody thanks to
    its 27 holes. The tournament round "Etang-Canigou"
    receives for more than 10 years now, the qualification
    cards for the big European circuit of PGA. According to
    meteorological conditions, you will have all the golf
    strokes to play and above all, you will have the chance to
    gaze the natural environment of this splendid mi links
    round built at the edge of a lake and just at the foot hills
    of the majestic Canigou Mountain. The round “la Fôret” shall allow you to discover a
    superb pinewood with a very technical round.

    Itinerary

    Saturday : Welcome and Presentation

    Late in the afternoon, reception at the hotel and presentation of the tour.
    Then, dinner in a gourmet restaurant the Mas d’Huston for a Market menu made with daily fresh
    products (including wine).

    Sunday : Wine in the Aspres

    We first visit a typical recently modernized Vigneron in Bages at the most important time of the year, the Harvest. Theis will be followed by a visit to t a young winegrower, will take some time with us to to understand the specificities of his know-how and his terroir. We will then leave for the visit of the marvelous collection of Céret’s modern art museum. Return and dinner in a Michelin starred restaurant.

    Monday : Harvest with the « Dominicains »

    We will be leaving for Collioure where vine growers from a cooperative will wait for us. We will have the exceptional chance to follow the fresh and ripe grapes, from the vineyards down to the fermentation tanks after gentle sorting and pressing. We will have lunch at Port-Vendres, and then then meet with a passionate winegrower who, with his brothers, manages a Domain which is now one of the most famous in the area. Free time in the evening at Collioure. Meeting point at the end of the evening, and return to the Hôtel

    Tuesday : Art, Beach or Golf

    Golf, walking, beach, in the morning. For the amateurs of Art, exhibition at Saint Cyprien’s Museum. Lunch at the “Brasserie” (including wines).

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

    ACCOMODATION

    You will stay in a four-star hotel where all rooms are air-conditioned, terrace or balcony and
    flat screen television. Enjoy the sun around the beautiful swimming pool. The decor of the hotel was entrusted to the great decorator Henry Quint! Room colors range from pastel to more lively colors. The hotel has two restaurants, a brasserie and a gourmet restaurant, which offer daily, fresh product from the market.

    TERROIRS AND WINES

    We will visit two regions, Aspres and Banyuls Collioure. This last one is a pleasure for the eyes before becoming one for the mouth thanks to the exceptional work of the winegrowers. In a vast
    amphitheatre faced to the sea, you will discover the vineyards of Banyuls and Collioure hung on
    Albères, which are mountains extending Pyrenees up to the sea. These vineyards are constituted of small terraces retained by about 6 000 kilometres of low walls in dry stones, manufactured for
    centuries by generations of winegrowers. A fascinating spectacle created by man helped by the
    mother rock made of brown schist from the Cambrien period.

    We will be able to have a good idea of wines offered by Roussillon region. You will discover an
    important range of wines. They will satisfy all palates, from sweet wines of extreme smoothness to the red, white and rosés wines with melted and silky tannins, here everything is made respecting terroir and work.
