Wine Tour Details
COSTIERES DE NIMES
Depending on the objective, maceration for the red wines can be long (3 - 4 weeks) or short (6 10 days): high end wines or wines easy to drink (light wines). The aging in tanks or barrels, with multiple rackings, can go from 6 months to 2 years for the high quality wines. Red wines are elegant, well balanced, round, generous and fine with aromas of red fruits (plum, mirabelle, cherry). Rosé wines, fed with the sunlight, have aromas of red and dry fruits. White wines are fruity with aromas of flowers.
COTEAUX DU LANGUEDOC
In tasting, red wines are velvety and elegant. They can have the smell of raspberry, blackcurrant,
spices or pepper. High end wines develop leather and laurel aromas, perfumes of scrubland (juniper, cade oil, thyme, rosemary). White wines have often a nice aromatic intensity. We can find fruity perfumes, often endowed with minerals which can remind us some of the best white Chateauneuf du Pape.

NIMES
Roman and Hispanic, Camarguaise and Cevennes, Languedocien and of Provence, Nīmes is at the crossroads of all the southern roads. Nīmes is more than two thousand years old. Two thousand years of history, artistic and passionate architecture. Rome is here like home and forever, from Nemausa the original source, the Maison Carrée, to the imperial oval Arena. The places of worship carry the painful marks of history and the Wars of religion. Nīmes, centre of Protestantism.
AIGUES MORTES
At the time when Languedoc Roussillon belonged to the Kings of Aragon, Louis IX throws his devolving on the port of Aquae Mortue to open an access on the Mediterranean, and to embark for the seventh crusade in 1248 in order to take Jerusalem back. It is only at the beginning of the 14th century when the surrounding walls of Aigues Mortes are completed. The battlements take place over 1634 m and today they are magnificently preserved. The splendid church of Notre Dame des Sablons, built in 1183 and its amazing stained glass windows put in 1991 are worth to be seen (from the international renown artist Soulage). The salt marshes of Aigues Mortes date back to antiquity.
MONTPELLIER
Born in 985, Montpellier keeps important traces of its medieval past. The architecture of the city brings us back to this past of the kings of Aragon and Majorca, this epoch of the barons of Caravčtes in the origins of the medieval consulate. The University of medicine is the most ancient of the western world still in activity (from 12th century). After the wars of religion, the city is rebuilt and gives birth to numerous charming Private Mansions, true jewels of elegance and refinement. Recently renovated, the Fabre museum (buildings of the 17th century and beyond), gathers a bunch of important work of the contemporary painter, Pierre Soulage.
