Esprit D'Europe - 6 nights North of France Cruise

L’Esprit d’Europe includes a large sundeck, a main deck with a panoramic bar, a lounge,
a bar area and a dining room. There are 19 comfortable cabins, including 9 on the upper
deck and 10 on the lower deck.L’Esprit d’Europe travels down the legendary river
Seine from Paris, City of Light and beautiful capital of France, to the charming seaport of
Honfleur. Our cruise takes us to medieval towns and through delightful countryside on
Europe’s most romantic river.

Daily Itinerary Aboard

Day 1

We meet in the lobby of Hotel Regina, 192 Rue de Rivoli, Paris at 4 p.m. (16.00) and transfer to Esprit d’ Europe moored on the river Seine in Paris.  Welcome aboard champagne reception and time to settle into your cabin and discover  Esprit de Europe before dinner on board. This evening you  enjoy an unforgettable cruise through Paris by Night and discover the magic of nighttime Paris.

Day 2

A  private guided coach tour of Paris, or alternatively, free time to explore or shop on your own this morning begins the day. This afternoon, cruise to Bougival, a residential town made famous by  the French Impressionists in the 1870’s.

Day 3

This morning an excursion to the chateau of Malmaision, home of Empress Josephine and on occasions, Napoleon himself.  We return to  Esprit d’ Europe in Conflans St Honorine for lunch followed by  an afternoon cruise to Vernon, a delightful town with a beautiful medieval center.

Day 4

This Morning an early start for a visit to the beautiful house and gardens of Claude Monet in Giverny.  Discover Monet’s  inspiration for such masterpieces as the “Water Lilies.”  The visit to Girveny is  followed by a cruise to Rouen, the gateway to Normandy.  We  have a guided walking tour of the medieval city, half timbered houses and the Gothic Cathedral.  There is free time to explore before dinner.

Day 5

Today we cruise to Duclair , a delightful country village surrounded by apple orchards.  We have the opportunity of a cider tasting after a visit to the famous abbey of Jumiege.

Day 6

Our departure this morning depends on the tides as  we cruise into the estuary of the Seine, passing the expansive suspension bridge at Tancarville to arrive into the charming and delightful town of Honfleur.  A guided walking tour of the picturesque harbour considered by some as the birth place of the impressionists movement, the half timbered houses and wooden church of Ste Catherine.  Gala dinner will be served this evening.

Day 7

After breakfast, we return to Paris, Hotel Regina, arriving before lunch.

Itinerary is done in reverse on alternate weeks.

Note: This is a sample itinerary: it is subject to modification in the case of unforeseen circumstances such as canal closures and navigation problems. The boat cruises in the opposite direction on alternate weeks. 

We are constantly developing our programmes and we may modify our overnight stops and excursions without prior notice in order to assure a consistently high standard of moorings and visits.
