Greg Dickins has had a life-long fascination with the visual arts and practice of photography. Greg has worked as a journalist and media consultant for most of his career. He took up photography in his teens, in the late 1960s, working with 35mm SLR cameras. Since then he has maintained a permanent darkroom, working mostly in black & white. In 2004, after watching the development of digital cameras for five years, he guessed the time was right to try the new medium.
Greg says: "What I have discovered since then has inspired me to share my experience with others who wish to challenge their visual potential through discovery in the new medium of digital photography. In my view photography, like all the arts, thrives in an environment where like-minded people come together to share creativity, ideas and to learn. "Greg grew up in Australia's capital Canberra then lived and worked in London for 14 years. He settled in Sydney in 1987 and has built up an intimate photographic knowledge of the city.
